In 2009 the organizers of ISU are going to offer for the seventh time a high quality summer study
program. Building upon previous success, this year’s program will focus once again on the economic development of the European Union. Frankfurt, with its importance to the European Union, offers a unique opportunity to combine theory and practice of economic acting due to numerous multinational institutions.Upon arrival in Frankfurt, the ISU team and faculty members will tend to your personal and academic needs throughout the duration of the program. Accommodation will be arranged in double rooms with breakfast in a conference hotel.

Course Content:
Seminars and evening lectures in English and German are offered in the following fields of study:
Seminar I: Intercultural Communications
Seminar II: European Integration
Seminar III: European Central Banking
Seminar IV: Financial Markets
Seminar V: E-Government in the EU
German Language Courses:
offered at four different levels
(beginner to conversation course)
 

Cultural Program:


In addition to the study program, an interesting cultural program is offered: weekend trips to the
impressive Rhine River (including boat trip) and Luxemburg. Excursions include trips to the European Central Bank, the Deutsche Bundesbank and the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. Additionally offered are visits to museums, theatres and concerts, lectures by guest speakers representing sciences, politics, economics and culture; opening and closing receptions and more...

The MSF program provides rigorous training in finance, helping students to develop their analytical and financial management skills. The program allows students to pursue study in either corporate finance or investments.

Northeastern's MSF curriculum is taught by full-time faculty, recognized as expert researchers by award-winning industry journals. In addition to extensive academic training in their field, our faculty have led major organizations, served as consultants, and many hold additional credentials including CFA and CPA. MS in Finance students enhance their networking opportunities as a result of their close association with faculty and industry leaders.

The MSF program offers convenience and flexibility. You can complete the program in 18-21 months. Students proceed through the program with many of the same classmates, enhancing networking opportunities. Classes are offered at the Batterymarch campus, located in Boston’s downtown financial district, and on Northeastern's Main Campus.

MSF students can take advantage of Northeastern’s MBA overseas summer study programs furthering their knowledge of global business. Students may choose trips of up to two weeks in duration to selected countries that are determined annually on student feedback.

The MSF curriculum provides comprehensive coverage of critical topics in finance including valuation, mergers and acquisitions, business turnaround, risk management, derivatives, insurance, and investments. The finance seminar course focuses on current methodologies in financial analysis.

Students are also required to complete a thesis to graduate from the program.
Students planning for the CFA exam find that the material is integrated into the curriculum of the MSF program. Those planning for the Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) exam also receive excellent preparation through the MSF courses and additional graduate business electives.
